Cuttlebone Casting Tutorial
I chose cuttlebone casting for this project because I have been learning different casting techniques this semester and it felt like a good technique to try out. It was fun to experiment on my own especially since most of the ways of making I utilize outside of school I have taught myself. It helped me work out in my mind how I want to set up my basement as a second studio so I can get to work on school and outside of school projects.
I don’t think I will use this technique very often as I don’t love that the molds are virtually useless after one pour so it’s not super sustainable in that sense. The texture is really cool so maybe I could play around with it once in a while. Sand casting and lost wax casting appeal to me.
